"Light....Darkness....Such pathetically base concepts. So easy to label and raise a sword towards, huh? They justify anything. No. I'm serving whomever I wish to. Anybody who gets in my way? Well, connect the dots!" -Kamai to Phayne during an encounter

Kamai is one of the two protagonists of Kingdom Hearts: Dual Paths. She and Phayne both studied under Keyblade Master Lomel before Kamai's desertion. Kamai wanders the worlds without a clear-cut purpose or moral compass, doing as she pleases. She seems to be seeking something, but even she cannot fathom the deepest recesses of her Heart.

Story[]

Kamai and Phayne trained under Master Lomel during much of their childhood. While the two students cared for one another, they could not have had more clashing mindsets. After taking the Mark of Mastery Exam, Phayne was the only one who was promoted, as Kamai's domineering mindset made the Master wary. In an extremely blind rage, she engaged Lomel in direct combat, managing to wound his left eye before running off-world. While the Master and Phayne shared a view of helping others being the pinnacle of a warrior, her inherently untrusting nature caused her to develop a somewhat misanthropic mind-set. While she still had good intentions for others, she believed that control, rather than blind compassion, was the best way to achive stability.

Fast-forward a month. Kamai wanders the Lanes Between, entering whatever new world she encounters. Her apathetic nature attracts those with evil and ill intent in their hearts to her side. But good and evil were disposable terms, weren't they? They would eventually seek her out......How will she react to them after having ran away so long ago?

Personality[]

Kamai treads the path between good and evil. While she isn't heartless, she finds enjoyment in violating laws and rules. Greatly valuing her moral freedom, she will fight vehemently against any who dare threaten it. She also does not trust easily due to events in her past. However, even she has bits of compassion, and will quickly sympathize with children or those who have had lives similar to her own.

She believes that controlling people is best for them, as simply doing good deeds for their sake is damaging to both sides in the long run. As such, cookie-cutter heroes (such as Rayman) will earn her ire, while those who give no care to morals (Such as Catwoman) will be respected.

Fighting Style[]

Kamai goes for a more range-oriented style as opposed to the "Jump in and attack" style Phayne uses. Kamai relies on debilitative spells, such as Poison and Daze, to weaken her enemies. Aside from these types of spells, Kamai uses powerful Magic that allows her to deal out damage without getting her hands dirty. If she must enter into physical combat, she uses tricky moves such as sliding and flipping to confuse her opponents.
