The Rim of the Sky is a world in Dividing Lines. It is the final world visited by Johnny and the site of the final battle.

Design[]

The Rim of the Sky is designed to be a series of floating islands. As such, it is difficult to use most of Johnny's Quickmove capabilities in combat. Close to the landing site, the terrain is more lush and paradise-like. As Johnny progresses further and further past his initial landing site, the terrain begins to turn more and more devilish and hell-like, in respect to being closer to Chaos' domain.

Story[]

After Johnny defeats Dusk Lance at the top of the Union of Territories, Dusk escapes through a strange portal made by his Chaosblade. Johnny, after telling his party to stay behind, follows Dusk and arrives on the islands. After hearing Alpha speak to him, Johnny begins his journey across the islands.

Soon, Johnny arrives at the throne of Chaos. Dusk has already sealed the deal to become the next Chaos and fights Johnny again. After the fight, Dusk is weakened and Chaos steps up to battle Johnny. As the battle wears on, Johnny finds himself unable to hurt Chaos. As he realizes this, Alpha appears next to him and battles Chaos alongside Johnny. Chaos is weakened and merges with Dusk. Alpha grants some of his power to Johnny and departs, stating that Dusk is Johnny's battle alone.

After an intense battle, Dusk loses control of Chaos and returns to his normal form. Johnny attempts to slay him, but instead ends up inside Dusk's heart. Johnny and Dusk fight once more inside Dusk's heart, with Johnny narrowly ending up the winner. Dusk dies and Johnny descends into Dusk's darkness.
